Hybrid packings are suitable for applications requiring an unusual combination of service demands. Specifically constructed hybrid packings are created combining two or more yarns by special braiding methods, and adding selected lubricants. Even though hybrid packings are primarily designed for use in specialised duties, they can be equally effective in many more standard applications. We recommend hybrid packings for difficult applications where high stresses are involved and the packing is required to offer a tight seal under high pressure, e.g. reciprocating pumps.
