Gate valves are widely used as closing valve for many different processes mainly for liquids and for steam. Gate valves are used in pipelines which sizes are from DN50 to DN1600. As a benefit in gate valves is that those are fully open valves and flow is not resisted or it influence will be very low. Materials for gate valves can chosen from standard carbon and stainless steel, but also with highly alloyed steels for high temperature services or for high corrosion tolerance.
Wedge gate valves are used mainly in power stations for high -, medium – or low pressure applications as a closing valve.
Knife gate valves are used in process industry as closing valve for different stocks and suspensions mainly in low pressure applications.
Rubber lined gate valves are used in water treatment plans as a closing valve.
